Medicinal Herb • Shade-Tolerant Perennial • Pollinator Friendly

Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora) is a graceful, herbaceous perennial native to North America and widely valued in traditional herbalism. It features slender green stems, soft green leaves, and small white to pale bluish flowers that bloom along the upper stems in summer.

Naturally found in moist meadows, woodland edges, and stream banks, Skullcap thrives in partial shade and consistently moist soils. It is considered a beneficial medicinal herb and a valuable addition to medicinal gardens, native plantings, and pollinator-friendly landscapes. While not aggressive like some spreading herbs, it will gently naturalize under the right conditions.
