Our Plant Health Guarantee 

Plant Quality & Growing Practices

Every plant leaves our nursery well-rooted, healthy, and ready to plant.

  • Propagated and grown on site
  • Organically grown (not certified, but never treated as commodity crops)
  • Garden-ready plants

Plant Size & Potting Details

  • Shipped in 2 3/8” x 3 3/4” band pots
  • Never shipped bare-root

Band pots protect roots during transit and give you flexibility—your plants don’t need to be planted the minute they arrive.

We pack carefully and ship healthy, well-rooted plants, but plants are living things and can experience stress in transit.

What to Do When Your Plants Arrive

Your plants should be opened and checked as soon as they arrive. If there are any issues, please photograph them and email us within 48 hours of delivery so we can help.

Plants may show minor wear from shipping (this is normal). If something doesn’t look right:

  • Take clear photos
  • Email us at info@charsawfarms.com within 48 hours

Our goal is for you to receive healthy, happy plants, and we genuinely do our best to make things right when problems arise.

Shipping carriers are responsible for transit delays and handling, but if your plants arrive damaged, please reach out. We’re happy to review photos and help whenever possible.

When & How We Ship Plants

Shipping Schedule & Timing

  • Orders typically ship Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays via UPS or USPS (2-3 day transit).
  • Shipping begins in April, based on:
    • Your average last frost date
    • Plant readiness (we never ship underdeveloped plants)

We hand-select every plant and inspect each one before packing.

Heat-Sensitive Shipping Policy

During peak summer heat (typically late June through July), shipping may slow or pause. Extreme temperatures + dark boxes = unhappy plants—and we won’t ship plants we wouldn’t want to receive ourselves.

Requesting a Specific Ship Date

If you need plants shipped at a specific time, leave a note in your order comments. We’ll do our best to accommodate.

Plant Order Minimums

Minimum Quantity for Potted Plants

  • 6-plant minimum for individual potted plants (Mixing varieties is welcome—you don’t need 6 of the same plant)
  • Most plants ship in 2 3/8” x 3 3/4” band pots
  • We ship throughout the U.S., including California, Hawaii, and Arizona

Shipping Terms & Customer Responsibilities

By placing an order with Charsaw Farms, you agree that:

Address Accuracy & Delivery Responsibility

  •  You’ve provided a correct and secure shipping address
  • Any address changes must be emailed to info@charsawfarms.com as soon as possible

Damaged or Lost Packages

  • Charsaw Farms is not responsible for packages lost or damaged by UPS
  • The customer is responsible for filing claims with UPS for lost or damaged packages

Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

  • No returns, refunds, or exchanges can be made after an order has shipped
  • If your plants arrive and you’re unhappy:
    • Take photos
    • Email us right away

We truly aim to work with every customer whenever possible.

Billing & Payment Security

How and When Your Card Is Charged

  • Orders are charged at checkout, not at shipment
  • Charsaw Farms never sees or stores your credit card number
  • Refunds (when applicable) are processed securely through our payment processor

This protects your information and keeps transactions secure.

Order Tracking & Delivery Updates

Shipment Notifications

We communicate primarily by email, so please provide a current email address at checkout.

You’ll receive:

  • An estimated ship date once your order is scheduled
  • Updated notifications if timing changes

Tracking Your Package

  • Tracking information once your order ships

If you don’t have internet access, call us—we’re happy to track your package for you.

Substitutions & Backordered Plants

How We Handle Unavailable Plants

  • We never substitute plants without your permission
  • You may list acceptable substitutions in the shopping cart
  • We do not backorder plants without contacting you first

If some plants won’t be ready by your shipping window, we’ll reach out so you can choose to:

  • Backorder
  • Cancel
  • Adjust your order

Customer Privacy & Data Use

Your information is never sold, rented, or shared.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

  1. Process and fulfill your order
  2. Send occasional emails about sales, classes, or nursery events
