Grosso is the lavandin most people picture when they think of sweeping fields of purple. It’s one of the most widely grown lavenders in the world, valued for its deep violet color, long stems, and reliable performance at scale.
Flower spikes rise well above the foliage on strong, rigid stems, making Grosso easy to harvest and hard to beat for cutting and drying. The color is rich and saturated—deep violet that holds exceptionally well once dried. In the garden, it’s bold and dramatic; in bundles and crafts, it’s consistent and dependable.
Despite its size, Grosso grows into a tidy, manageable shrub. It handles heat, drought, and deer pressure better than most, and in favorable conditions it often produces a second flush of bloom, extending the harvest window. This is a true workhorse lavandin—productive, resilient, and proven year after year.
