Swordleaf inula is a plant that quietly does everything right. It forms a tidy mound of narrow, blade-like dark green leaves, then in midsummer it suddenly lights up with dozens of bright yellow, daisy-like flowers. Each bloom is about two inches wide, and together they create a glowing patch of color right when many early perennials are winding down.
Because of its compact size, this plant is perfect for the front of garden beds, along pathways, or tucked into small spaces that need dependable summer color. Butterflies are especially fond of the blooms, making it a simple way to support pollinators while keeping the garden looking polished.
This is an easy, hardworking perennial—low fuss, long-lived, and always cheerful.
