Fuchsia magellanica (hardy fuchsia)

This hardy fuchsia can withstand cold temperatures, though it may experience die back in extremely cold regions. However, it reliably regrows from its base. Its narrow leaves and abundant bright red flowers make it an appealing choice for gardeners. In warmer areas, it can grow quite tall and is a favorite of hummingbirds. For optimal growth, plant it in partial or afternoon shade in hot summers.
