This species is native to the northwestern U.S., and is reputed to have the same medicinal properties as its harder to grow European cousin, Arnica montana. It produces numerous solitary stems of bright yellow flowers in mid-summer.

Meagan I was unable to find Arnica in any of my local nurseries so decided to "risk" ordering a live plant online. I was nervous ordering 6 live plants and was so impressed with how well they were packaged! They got to me in Denver still moist and had retained all their soil in transit. I followed the instructions to build up time outside prior to planting and probably could have gone slower, but they've been in the ground over a week now and are doing amazingly! New flowers have already bloomed. Thanks!
