Salvia officinalis (garden sage)

This is the sage commonly used in cooking and herbal medicine. It is also the parent of many cultivars, both culinary and ornamental. The wrinkled leaves are greyish green and very aromatic. The bluish flowers are in tall spikes and attract bees, hummingbirds and butterflies.
