Lavender Oil Making and Lunch
Begin your day by picking your own lavender bunches from one of our 23 cultivars planted throughout the property. Next, the cut lavender will be placed into the still by each guest, and a Charsaw Farms team member will fire up the still! The lavender extraction process will take from 2-3 hours, and the essential oil will accumulate, along with the hydrosol, in a separating funnel for all to see.
While the still is in action, guests will sit down and enjoy our views while munching on our croissant sandwiches, salad assortment and dessert. Chatting with old or new-found friends is certainly part of the program, as is tasting our lavender infused lemonade or nibbling on one of our delicious lavender brownies or lavender shortbread cookies, all local favorites! Feel free to bring your favorite beverage to enjoy!
Once the distillation process has finished, the essential oil will be distributed to the customer in 1ml bottles. We will be offering three classes in July while our lavender is in bloom, but we have limited space so please sign up prior to your visit to make sure we have ample product to accomodate you and/or your group.
